I Give Scott’s “Yoshi” the Push it Needs

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Have you heard of a little video Scott discreetly uploaded to collegehumor.com on Monday? I doubt it because I haven’t, ’till now, given it the platform that is my wide audience.

Did you catch what I was doing right there? By means of some flashy verbiage I managed to complain about my anonymity again. I don’t know what I would write about without it, really. It’s my catch-22.

And if you’ve got a minute more here’s the behind the scenes action:

Rock Monsters Screens at Last

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Brian Engh’s thesis film, Children of Stone, screened last Saturday after over a year of work. I filmed a bit of the behind the scenes and put together this little video which is at best an incomplete account of the night. Brian tells me he’ll be making a “making of” for the DVD which will hopefully fill in the gaps. For those of you there, however, maybe this will be interesting.

I’ve also posted the time lapse vid I made during production (back when the working title of the movie was Dawn of the Monoliths). We built a stage and filmed rock monsters fighting each other at LMU over the course of a weekend, and at something like 5000 percent speed this is what it looked like:

Building a Teeter Totter

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Ever reminisce about the good ‘ol days when being able to repeatedly launch yourself a few feet off the ground while simultaneously sitting down was just a park away?

Re live the teeter totter experience like I did by building one of your own in your back yard. Or do it for a friend who’s making a ridiculous sum of money for the stupidest 30 seconds of video ever assembled and then keep it and use it when you’re feeling down (oh lord, feeling down, that’s a good one, me!)

Georgetown, DE

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

I’m back home in DE finally for the first time in 6 months or so and I’ve wasted no time in returning to work. Though the plan was to set out by today it wasn’t that much of a shock that we’ll be nearly a week behind. Fortunately for me I haven’t found myself doing trim work or lugging washing machines through narrow doors– instead I’m helping to finish the roof. A good portion was done which makes the rest seem to go by quicker.

It’s about 90 degrees with 90% humidity every day, but the wind makes it tolerable. Actually the entire environment and how long I’ve been away makes work seem more like fun. But I never completely forget.

I was told I may have misrepresented Delaware in a previous post so I wanted to take the opportunity to post a few pictures I’ve taken on the job site that will hopefully make the subject clearer. “Slower Lower Delaware,” I’m told, is a negative description, but I’ve always understood it as a way of describing a laid back life style….. And how stupid everyone is! SIKE!

I think it’s a pretty sweet deal.
