Motorcycle Trip: Day 23
Saturday, August 18th, 2007I know you like the new intro.
I know you like the new intro.
I’ve been incredibly reliant on open networks throughout this entire trip, and for the most part it’s been a good experience. I have, however, come to know many kinds of networks, and there are none more frustrating than the one I currently work with.
I name thee Ghost, WiFi. In my cabin a few hundred feet away from the main building my computer will pick up your signal, but it won’t so much as recognize google unless I hold it sideways on one side. I’ve done my work and moved to the game room nearer to what I can only imagine is a tiny tiny antenna for better reception. I booted the ‘top up and it found you instantly, and with full bars as well. I made a chuckle to myself and began to prepare youtube for another brilliant installment of my webseries, but it wasn’t three clicks later that I found you to be slow still. Yes, I confirmed the six or so bars in the wifi pic were all there, so it puzzles me that I can’t hardly load Facebook. The only answer is that you may link with me well, but you’re linked poorly to some satellite internet which was recently blown up by the incredible storm we just had. You are a ghost.
This has been the third day dealing with this difficulty and it’s backing me up. At least by the time I’m finally able to check my things I might have a comment or two. A video a day is a little much anyway, isn’t it?
